パラスポーツを通じた学生同士の交流

　I have been involved in organizing the Para University Festival for three years. Para University Festival is an event where students from different universities and graduate schools organize and participate in parasports. This year we had over 100 participants. We offer a variety of parasports for participants to experience, and we adjust the rules to make them more fun and easier to try. This year, we had wheelchair basketball, boccia, a wheelchair relay, and original sport.
　The original sport is created each year by the organizer and participants. After trying it on the day of the event, the participants give their opinions, revise the rules to make it better, and then try playing it again. Unlike the other events, where universities compete against each other, the original sport is played by mixed-member teams from different universities. This year, we did a blindfolded ball-toss game. I was worried whether this game would go well because communication is very important in this game. However, it was a great success, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Many participants shared in the post-event surveys that they enjoyed the opportunity to meet students from other universities. It was impressive to see how interactions between students from different universities through the original sport made events more exciting and encouraged more cheering and support for other university teams.
　Participating in the Para University Festival made me realize that anyone can enjoy parasports. We’re planning to hold it again this year, so we’d be happy if you could join us!

　私は3年間パラ大学祭の運営メンバーとして活動しています。パラ大学祭は、大学生や大学院生、専門学生が企画?運営?参加するパラスポーツイベントで、今年は100人以上の参加者が集まりました。パラ大学祭では、初めて参加する人でも楽しめるようにルールを少しアレンジし、複数の種目を体験できるようにしています。今年実施したスポーツは、車椅子バスケ、ボッチャ、車椅子リレー、オリジナルスポーツの4つです。
　オリジナルスポーツは毎年、運営メンバーと参加者で作り上げる種目です。事前にアイデアを出し合い、当日は体験後に意見を交換し合いより良いルールに改善する方法を考え、変更を加えた後、改訂版のルールで再度プレイします。他の種目は大学対抗ですが、オリジナルスポーツは様々な大学の学生が混ざる初対面の学生同士のチームで行います。
　今年のオリジナルスポーツは「ブラインド玉入れ」で、ボールをかごに入れられる人が目隠しをしているため、見えている人とのコミュニケーションが重要な競技です。初対面の学生同士のチームで行うためうまくいくか心配でしたが、大盛り上がりでした。私はオリジナルスポーツ担当だったので、参加者が楽しんでいる様子を見てとても嬉しく感じました。イベント後のアンケートでも、多くの参加者が「他大学の学生との交流が楽しかった」と答えてくれました。オリジナルスポーツを通じて、他大学の学生同士が交流したことで他大学のチームを応援する声も聞こえたのが印象に残っています。パラ大学祭終了後も、写真を撮ったり、話したりして、交流が続いていました。
　パラ大学祭に参加してパラスポーツは誰でも楽しめるということを実感しました。初めて参加するのはハードルが高いかもしれませんが、参加してみるとパラスポーツの魅力に気づき、他大学の学生と仲良くなり何度もパラ大学祭に参加してくれている人もいます。今年も開催予定なのでぜひ参加してください！
